By default, recordings upload in "Private" mode to the account of the creator and are not automatically public to other staff and students. Recordings can only be released at the creator's discretion and only this creator has access to these recordings.
Mediasite and Video Delivery
Mediasite is a video recording and delivery platform available to all ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ faculty, staff, and students. It can be used to record classroom lectures, student projects, special events, and training sessions. The content can then be shared on Blackboard course page or with select people.
Mediasite serves three critical functions at ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥:
- Lecture and Event capture in Classroom Lecture Capture spaces
- Screen recording via the Mediasite Mosaic application
- Content management and sharing via
Mosaic, Mediasite's desktop lecture capture tool, allows you to record presentations consisting of audio/video, slides, and/or computer programs. Many faculty who teach class in a hybrid or flipped classroom find it helpful to use Mosaic to create supplemental videos for their students as needed.
Installing Mediasite Mosaic
- Required: Windows 10 version 17763.0 or higher, 8 GB Memory, built-in or external camera and microphone
- Required: Mac OS Catalina (version 10.15) or higher, 4 GB Memory, at least 1 GB disk space, built-in or external camera and microphone

We strongly discourage uploading video files directly to Blackboard or to share videos on Blackboard via Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, personal email, etc.
You should upload videos to your  account for distribution. This will improve the viewer experience by reducing the bandwidth needed to view the videos and making it easier for people using mobile devices or slower connections to view your content optimally.

Use the Mediasite Editor to add finishing touches to your presentation ― trim the beginning or end, remove unwanted content, add chapters, etc. After completing your edits, you can save your edited video to the original presentation or create a brand new one.
