Phone Support

Unit manages all data, voice, wireless, network security, and cable TV services; along with the Wildcard access infrastructure on campus. Specific services include:

Set Up Voicemail

Initialize your mailbox:

  1. From your desk phone, dial 96000
  2. Follow the prompts to set a new security code (temporary code is 0000, four zeros), record your name, and record your greeting.
  3. To reset your security code and change the security code This is a new feature to help make the process self-serve for the users and be more user friendly being able to change it when you want for security purposes. 

Setup for a MAILBOX-ONLY number:

  1. From a campus phone, dial 96000  
  2. Press [*] when prompted for security code 
  3. Press [#] and enter the 5 digit mailbox-only number 
  4. Follow the prompts to set a new security code (temporary code is 0000, four zeros), record your name, and record your greeting.

Access from an off campus phone:

  1. Dial 610-519-6000 
  2. Press [#] followed by your five digit extension.  
  3. Follow the prompts to set a new security code (temporary code is 0000, four zeros), record your name, and record your greeting.

How set your Out of Office

To Enable an Out of the Office message:

  1. If at the phone enter your voicemail
    1. Click 4 for Phone Manager Functions
    2. Click 6 for Out of Office Greeting
    3. Record message and press any key when complete
    4. Press # to save and enable the Out of the Office greeting
  2. If using a cell phone
  1. Call 610-519-6000
  2. Press # followed by your five digit extension.
  3. Enter your security code (voicemail password)
  4. Click 4 for Phone Manager Functions
  5. Click 6 for Out of Office Greeting
  6. Record message and press any key when complete
  7. Press # to save and enable the Out of the Office greeting

To Disable an Out of the Office message:

  1. If at the phone enter your voicemail
    1. Remove Out of Office greeting by pressing 4. 
  2. If using a cell phone
  1. Call 610-519-6000
  2. Press # followed by your five digit extension.
  3. Enter your security code (voicemail password)
  4. Remove Out of Office greeting by pressing 4.  

Access New Features

Voice Message Notification

  1. Message Waiting Indicator light should function as usual on Extension Mailboxes (9xxxx). 
  2.  NEW! Email notification:  you will receive an email sent from "Voicemail Notification" in your Email Inbox when you receive a voice message.

Voice Message Retrieval

  1. Via Phone: dial 96000 or use voicemail envelope/button on phone 
  2. NEW! Via Browser: access Web Phone Manager at and login in with your 棉花糖直播 credentials.

Shortcuts While Listening To A Message

  • Press 1 1 quickly to rewind message to start.
  • Press 3 3 quickly to get to the end of message quickly.

For oncampus with physical access to desk phone:

To temporarily redirect all calls to an extension or outside number:

  • Press * 0 2
  • Dial extension or number where calls will be sent
  • Hang up.

To cancel call forwarding:

  • Press # 0 2

Send all calls:

To send all calls immediately to coverage:

  • Press * 2 2

To cancel send all calls:

  • Press # 2 2
For OFF campus/remote users:
  1. To request call off campus forwarding, use the .
  2. Once the form is received, you will be contacted with instructions.

Using the Mobile App NEW!


NEW ICON FOR THIS APP CX-E Voice

1.       Add mobile device to your profile (this step must be performed prior to step #2 below!)

a.       Using a browser, access Web Phone Manager at 

b.       In the left menu, under Settings, select Devices.

c.       Add a telephone number for either a Company Mobile device or a Personal Mobile device, and ensure that device is displayed as Primary Mobile Device.

d.       Click OK to close Devices dialog box.

2.       Install the mobile app CX-E Voice:

a.       Mobile app: search for and install "CX-E Voice" from the Apple Store or Google Store.

b.       Select Login at bottom right of Welcome screen.

c.       On the Mobile Server screen, enter voicemobile.villanova.edu/cxms for Server Name, and select Use secure connection (SSL)

d.       Select Next

e.       On the Mailbox Credentials screen, enter your 5-digit extension for Username (ex. 9xxxx or 8xxxx), and your Security Code you set when you initialized your mailbox. Enter the mobile number you added to your profile into the Phone Number field.

f.        Select Next

g.       On the Notifications screen, select your preference.

h.       On the Finished screen, select Finish.

Avaya 9608G IP Telephone

  • The Avaya 9608 IP phone is a full-featured Gigabit IP desk phone that provides 24 programmable line and feature buttons.

Avaya 2402 Digital Telephone

  • The 2402 is a two-line digital telephone for use with an Avaya call processing system.

Avaya 2420 Digital Telephone

  • The 2420 Digital Telephone is a multiline digital telephone for use with an Avaya call processing system. The 2420 telephone puts convenient features and capabilities at your fingertips, including:
    • an easy to read screen
    • a flexible call appearance button display
    • customizable interface

Avaya 4602 IP Telephone

  • The 4602 IP Telephone has two Line (Call Appearance) buttons, ten dedicated. Feature buttons, a 2-line by 24 character display area, and a one-way, listen-only Speaker.

Avaya 4621 IP Telephone

  • The 4620/4620SW/4621SW IP Telephone is an innovative telephone that gives you access to the World Wide Web while offering the latest features and applications. The large display area allows up to 12 application-specific buttons to be presented and labeled at one time. Additionally, 12 Line/Feature buttons, 4 softkeys, and other fixed buttons provide access to powerful capabilities.
