Phone: 610-519-4070

Provides medical care, including confidential and free testing for sexually transmitted infections, pregnancy, and predatory drugs such as GHB, Rohypnol and Ketamine.

130 S. Bryn Mawr Ave.
Bryn Mawr, PA 19010
Phone: 484-337-3000

Provides medical treatment and collection of evidence. Under Pennsylvania law, a hospital medical provider is required to notify law enforcement of a reported sexual assault. The Complainant may decline to speak with a law enforcement officer or participate in a criminal prosecution.

Jane Doe Reports: Bryn Mawr Hospital will complete a rape kit anonymously, also known as a Jane Doe report. In this instance, a rape kit is completed, turned over to the police, but the victim's name is not provided to the police. This gives a victim the ability to obtain a forensic exam and decide later if they would like to pursue a criminal investigation.

A note about seeking medical assistance:

Bring someone you trust: If you feel comfortable, bring someone you trust such as a friend, family member, or university staff member such as a Sexual Assault Resource Coordinator.

Try not to shower: For a sexual assault forensic exam, try not to shower, bathe, douche, wash your hands, brush your teeth, comb your hair, use a toilet, eat/drink, smoke, chew gum, or change your clothes. This may be difficult, but doing so could impact evidence collection should you decide to report the incident to the police.

Bring a change of clothes: Store any items of clothing worn, including shoes, at the time of the assault in a paper bag.

Seek prompt medical attention: In addition to evaluating and treating injuries, the timely gathering of evidence is important should you ever decide to pursue a police investigation.
