RESOURCES AND OPPORTUNITIES
As an interdisciplinary program that includes courses from the Departments of English, Communication, Philosophy and Cultural Studies, the Writing and Rhetoric Program offers students a unique opportunity to gain experience in a range of writing environments. Students can shape their understanding of rhetorical frameworks and learn how to apply that knowledge to their post-graduate journey toward professional, creative, and everyday writing and communication.
The program鈥檚 focus on analyzing diverse literary texts encourages an imaginative discourse that helps our students understand and value the well-known correlation between reading well and writing well. With a focus on oral presentation and persuasion, the program helps students develop rhetorically complex understandings of audiences and then master the skills necessary to adapt their own words for their intended audiences. By developing strong communication skills, students will graduate confident that their abilities will lead them on a path to success in life after college.
