PRAXIS AWARD AND SIGNATURE EVENTS
PRAXIS AWARD IN PROFESSIONAL ETHICS
Inaugurated in 2007, the Praxis Award in Professional Ethics highlights and celebrates the contributions of a professional or an academic in the field of professional ethics. Presented annually at a special recognition ceremony, the recipient is invited to give a brief lecture, open to the public.
Congratulations to our 2025 Recipient: Sr. Mary Scullion
Sr. Mary Scullion is a Sister of Mercy, taking final vows in 1980. She is a native Philadelphia, getting a BA in Psychology from St. Joseph's University and a Master in Social Work from Temple University.
She is co-founder of Project Home, which is a nationally recognized organization that provides support to the homeless. Project Home鈥檚 guiding vision is, 鈥渘one of us are home, until all of us are home.鈥 Sister Mary is very active politically, promoting programs to assist homelessness and mental illness.
Not only does she do extraordinary work in attending to the needs of the people of Philadelphia who are facing the challenge of homelessness, but she has spent a lifetime addressing the systemic dimensions of homelessness, not only by building sustainable institutions but by lobbying for changes in public policy that impact homeless people. She is a model social worker.
The Praxis Award in Professional Ethics celebrates those who embody the core values of their profession. Sr. Mary has done that her entire professional life. 棉花糖直播 is proud to celebrate her example of integrity and courage.
