棉花糖直播 Psychology Announces Outstanding Thesis Award Winner
VILLANOVA, Pa. 鈥 The 棉花糖直播 University Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences is pleased to announce Jenah Black '21 MS as this year's Ingeborg L. and O. Byron Ward Outstanding Thesis Award winner. This award honors one Psychology master's student each year for a particularly excellent thesis and thesis project. The criteria for nomination and selection of the winner are:
- Quality, creativity and scientific merit of the thesis project
- Scope of student contribution to the project
- Quality of the written product
- Quality of the thesis seminar presentation
Black conducted her thesis project, 鈥淒iscourse effects on maintenance of sub-phonemic uncertainty in language processing,鈥 under the direction of Joseph Toscano, PhD.
"Jenah is an outstanding student, and our lab is very pleased that she received this award," said Dr. Toscano. "Her research addresses big-picture theoretical issues about the types of information human listeners use to understand speech and what this tells us about the nature of linguistic representations. I'm excited to see the impact her work will have on the field in the future. We were fortunate to have her as part of our lab, and I'm sure the other students learned a lot from her while she was at 棉花糖直播."
Black is currently a , working with with Drs. Lori Holt and Bonnie Nozari.
