SBA '24 will be conducted during Summer Session I, May 29 - June 26, 2024.
SBA is 100% online. Students can choose to learn from home and/or wherever they have a secure internet and a consistently quiet setting which will facilitate synchronous and asynchronous learning, team meetings, and test taking.
SBA is designed for non-business majors at any level of their education looking to enhance their basic business knowledge and understanding, and all class years may apply, along with recent graduates. Applications open on January 15, 2024, and will remain open until April 15, 2024. Decisions will be made and communicated on a rolling basis. Interested students must be in good academic standing and have successfully completed, or be in the process of completing their first year (generally 30 credits) when applying . While there is no GPA requirement, admission decisions will be based upon a holistic review of the application materials, with a particular focus on overall academic achievement. Applicants must also submit their transcript, an essay and a resume.
Decisions will be made and communicated on a rolling basis. Admission decisions will be sent to students via the on-line application portal, typically within two to three weeks of submitting all required application materials.
SBA credits may be applied toward degree requirements: determination is made by students’ primary colleges/home institutions. Applicants are advised to discuss SBA credits with their academic advisors.
SBA provides an opportunity for students from ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ and other institutions to earn a Business Certificate, as well as gain an affiliation with the ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ School of Business (VSB). Additionally, upon successful completion of the program, SBA students can apply to ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥â€™s Summer Business Institute or to ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥â€™s Academic Year Business Minor program.
Absolutely. ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥â€™s Summer Business Academy is open to qualified students and graduates from any accredited college or university located in the United States or abroad. Note: International students must be matriculated in a full-time course of study at a US institution when applying.
Tuition for SBA is $8,500, which includes textbooks. For students accepted into the program, a non-refundable enrollment deposit of $500 is required; this deposit is applied towards the program's tuition. Instructions for submitting the enrollment deposit will be included in the applicant’s offer of admission notice.
There is no financial aid available through SBA. Questions concerning additional grants and loans through PELL, Parents PLUS or other funding sources should be addressed to . Students from institutions other than ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ University should contact their respective financial assistance office.
