DEI Committee Listening Session
Thursday, February 20 at 4pm in the Martin G. McGuinn 鈥67 Ceremonial Courtroom (Room 201)
Please join members of the DEI Committee for a listening session about the recent executive orders that are impacting many different communities. The goal is to provide the community an opportunity to discuss perspectives and concerns regarding the orders, including the orders regarding immigration, DEI programs, and transgender issues, etc.

Come meet lawyers and recruiters from organizations that interview students throughout the year, including large and small / mid-size law firms, government agencies, public interest organizations, and corporations. If you attend one networking event this semester, this should be it! For 1Ls, this is a great opportunity to get in front of the employers who will be recruiting for 2L summer positions. For 2Ls and 3Ls, we have heard from some employers that they will be recruiting for upcoming summer, academic year, or 2025 postgrad positions. Join UBS and Friends of Nova for an Evening of Insightful Conversation
Monday, February 24, at 5pm in the Arthur M. Goldberg 鈥66 Commons
This special event features Admiral Jonathan Greenert retired four-star admiral and former Chief of Naval Operations, the highest-ranking position in the U.S. Navy. As a member of the UBS Americas Advisory Council, Admiral Greenert is a trusted advisor on geopolitical risk and global strategy. The program will focus on leading through constructive change and overcoming challenges, while also addressing geopolitical risks and global complexities.

2025 International Summer Abroad
The application period for the 2025 international summer abroad program in Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina has opened. Please email Professor Samahon (samahon@law.villanova.edu) for an application. Admissions decisions will be made on a rolling basis. The application submission deadline is March 1, 2025.

Sports Law Negotiation Team
Following up our Sports Law Negotiation Team's triumph at the annual Tulane Baseball Negotiation Competition in mid-January, we sent two teams to the annual Tulane Football Negotiation Competition January 31-February 1.
We are proud to report that once again, one of our teams won the Competition!
Our team of Christian Novarro 3L, Jonathan Passero 3L and Matt Cohen 2L took the title, having faced off against our other team 鈥 Nick Pilny 3L, Mick Maspons 3L, Chandon Pierre 3L and Ethan Chaiet 2L 鈥 in the quarterfinals.
SLNT has continued its excellence at these competitions; we wish our Basketball and Soccer teams the same level of success as they prepare for their respective events.

Absence Reporting Form
If you have missed or know you will miss a class session and believe the absence may be excused, please use to record the absence and have it excused where applicable. Please note that individual faculty members DO NOT receive submitted forms, so you must still notify your professors independently of any absences.

The includes information about the law school and university Offices of DEI, the DEI Committee list, processing DEI environmental complaints, student organizations, and affinity groups, a glossary of DEI terms, and details about the Veritas, Unitas, and Caritas Community Award. Refer any questions, suggestions, and recommendations about the LibGuide content to the Office of DEI.
Embedded Counselors at the Law School
Dr Allison Kosloff and Dr. Candice Post, counselors from University Counseling Center, will be at the Law School in Room 138 from 12:30-4:30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays through spring semester for appointments with Law Students. Students should schedule an appointment in advance (in-person or telehealth) using the online appointment form on the Counseling Center鈥檚 website or by calling 610 519-4050.
Wellness Resources for Students

It is important to reach out if you are going through a challenge, feeling overwhelmed, need to talk or want to find ways to maintain balance in your life.
Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers: LCL is fully operational during this time of uncertainty. They have one staff rotating in the office each day to ensure every helpline call will be thoroughly handled. Their volunteer base of 295 law students, attorneys, and judges are ready, willing, and able to assist any student, staff or faculty member that may be struggling LCL鈥檚 24/7 helpline is 888-999-1941 and their website is also a wealth of information
