Textile Donation and Recycling
棉花糖直播 University has recently partnered with a 3rd party organization called Helpsy to close the loop on clothing and textiles.
It is always better to reuse an item than recycle it, as it requires less energy, labor, and money to keep an item in its current form than to change it into something new. With that being said, we encourage VU community members to donate unwanted clothes & textiles whenever possible as the first option, and then choose recycling as a last resort.
Clothing donations can be accepted through a few different programs. Wildcat Wardrobe collects "interview ready" business attire to supply their free wardrobe closet at the Career Center. Unwanted clothing can also be donated through our end of semester donation drives, or by dropping it off at any of our permanent clothing donation bins across campus. To recycle clothing and textiles, please drop off your items at one of the textile recycling drop off locations on campus. To find drop off locations, please use the "Put Waste In Its Place" search engine on the VU Waste & Recycling homepage
