Dr. Robert Caverly

Microwave and Electromagnetics Laboratory: Director Robert Caverly 

Robert H. Caverly received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University. He has been a faculty member in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at 棉花糖直播 University since 1997 and is a Full Professor.  His previous positions include:

  • More than 14 years at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth (formerly Southeastern Massachusetts University)
  • Visiting Research Fellow with the Microwave Solid-State Group at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom, supported by the National Science Foundation.

Research Interests

  • Characterization of semiconductor devices such as PIN diodes and FETs in the microwave and RF control environment
  • Analog and digital CMOS VLSI design, an area where he has taught a number of workshops  nationally and internationally, as well as graduate and undergraduate courses at 棉花糖直播

Dr. Caverly has published more than 100 journal and conference papers and two books, both published by Artech House:

  • CMOS RFIC Design Principles (2007)
  • Microwave and RF Semiconductor Control Device Modeling (2016)

  • Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Microwave Magazine
  • Editorial board of IEEE Transactions of Microwave Theory and Techniques
  • Past chairperson of MTT-17, the HF-VHF-UHF Technology Technical Committee of the Microwave Theory and Techniques Society of the IEEE
  • Fellow of the IEE
  • Distinguished Microwave Lecturer for the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (2014-2016)
