Colleen Zagar ’12 CE: Woman of Influence in Engineering

After graduating in 2012 with her degree in Civil Engineering and an academic excellence award, Colleen Zagar began her engineering career with Turner Construction in New York City, where she worked as an engineer and superintendent on the Whitney Museum. She then took increasingly responsible positions as a cost analyst, eventually presenting financial analysis to senior leadership. In 2019, Zagar relocated to San Diego to work as an engineer on the Navy General Administration Facility, which was completed a month ahead of schedule. She is now senior project engineer on a local life science project. At the San Diego office, Zagar serves on the planning committee of Turner Construction’s Professional Women’s Group, which hosts events with the goal of elevating women in engineering and construction.
