VSB Announces New Management Consulting Concentration
棉花糖直播, Pa., September 29, 2017 - The 棉花糖直播 School of Business (VSB) has announced a new Management Consulting concentration available to students in the Class of 2020. This concentration will supplement the management major and prepare students for the future demands in the consulting industry by equipping them with the knowledge to manage teams and develop client relationships.
Ward Utter, associate chair, Management & Operations, said, 鈥淐onsulting is a growing career field and an increasing number of recruiters are looking to hire students who understand team dynamics, add value to the problem solving process and develop effective client solutions. This concentration is a way for students to indicate their interest and provide assurance for recruiters that they are prepared to take on these roles.鈥
Through the Management Consulting concentration, students will enhance their organizational acumen and ability to understand the complex challenges that consultants face. The concentration鈥檚 curriculum is designed to provide students with an academic knowledge of management, an in-depth understanding of the tools used in the consulting industry, and provide hands-on experience working with a real organization.
Narda Quigley, chair, Management & Operations and associate professor of Management added, 鈥淲hile the management major adds value on its own, the concentration allows those who desire to work in consulting to further commit their time and attention to developing the skills that are specifically applicable to this industry.鈥
The course progression designed for this new concentration will allow students to customize their degrees and open more opportunities to them in the consulting field after graduation.
