PROVIDING CARE

- Unity Clinic: Nursing students provide free care to uninsured patients under the supervision of a nurse practitioner
- Caring for People with Disabilities Toolkit: FCN helped to develop a tool kit for the care of people with disabilities where before there was a gap in education and practice
INNOVATIONS BENEFITTING OLDER ADULTS

- Gerontology Interest Group (GiG): a campus-wide collaboration of students, faculty, and staff who engage in research, advocacy and workforce development to support the needs of the aging population
- ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ ReachOut: Launched in 2020, this program activates the ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ University campus community to engage older adults through technology and make a positive difference in their mental and physical wellness.
SERVICE LEARNING

- Serving the Community: By developing health fairs, teaching classes and assessing the needs of varied populations, students raise awareness of health issues and concerns
- Global Reach: Scholarships through the Connelly-Delouvrier International Scholars Program provide international and multicultural learning opportunities
STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS OR ACTIVITIES

- Participation in ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥, local and national nursing organizations gives students opportunities to develop advocacy skills and practical experience.

- Many Nursing faculty maintain a clinical practice of their own serving as staff nurses, counselors, nurse practitioners and volunteers.
- Faculty members' service as members of boards of local, regional and national community groups and organizations Through their scholarship, leadership and service, faculty make substantial contributions to the profession and society at large.
