ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ University Celebrates Women's History Month 2023

VILLANOVA, Pa. (February 27, 2023) — ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ University will celebrate Women’s History Month with an array of empowering and informative community-based events. March marks a month-long celebration of the contributions of women in history and contemporary society, and programming includes academic lectures, professional panels and conversational opportunities, alumni events and more.

Women’s History Month Programming Highlights

ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥â€™s Women’s History Month celebration begins on March 1 with The Club of Greater Philadelphia’s ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ Alumni United and Leading Together (VAULT) Speaker Series: Unlocking the Potential of the Nova Network! Featuring Terri Boyer, EdD, '95 CLAS, Assistant Vice Provost of Centers and Institutes Director, Anne Welsh McNulty Institute for Women's Leadership Associate Professor of Education and Counseling, this series of events feature prominent alumni leaders who share their career journeys and discuss how ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ has impacted their personal and professional lives. A $20 registration fee for alumni, parents and friends includes a continental breakfast and refreshments. A $5 registration fee for current students includes a continental breakfast and refreshments.

On March 3, The McNulty Institute will host Ignite Change, Advance Your Leadership, a full-day workshop for ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ staff who identify as women or non-binary. The day will explore leadership values, work-life issues, communication and negotiations, and managing up in addition to skills and strategies for being a change agent within various communities. The workshop, which will be held at The Inn at ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ University, is completely free of charge. Breakfast and lunch are also provided.

The ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ Law Women’s Network is excited to host its annual tea and conversation event on March 10. This year the focus is on Dahlia Lithwick’s Lady Justice: Women, the Law, and the Battle to Save America. The program begins with a tea tasting with Marlene Robinson from Mrs. Robinson’s Tea. Then, ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥â€™s inaugural Anti-Poverty Fellow and Founder of the Student-Run Emergency Housing Unit of Philadelphia (SREHUP), Stephanie Sena, will speak before attendees break out into smaller groups to discuss Lithwick’s work and how women lawyers are uniquely positioned to make actionable change. Resources will be sent ahead of the event, including interviews with Dahlia Lithwick and podcast recommendations.

The 2023 Spotlight on Leadership is Sponsored by the Office of Student Involvement and will feature lecture keynote speaker, Linda Hancock, FNP, PhD. The event will take place on March 27 at the ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ Room in the Connelly Center.
