ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥â€™s Graduate Programs in Communication develop leaders capable of strategic and ethical thinking, speaking, writing and research on communication issues and problems, fostering critical competence and analytical rigor in the practice and study of communication. 

Our programs seamlessly integrate theory, research and practice in key areas of the Communication discipline. Valuing a diverse, dynamic learning community, we aim to provide one of the best Masters-level educational experiences in the country. We develop leaders capable of strategic and ethical thinking, speaking, writing and research on communication issues and problems. With this degree, you can pursue a variety of academic, corporate and non-profit careers.
 

WHY VILLANOVA COMMUNICATION?

There are not many programs in which you can learn practices from media production and PR writing, to audience analysis and journalism, along with theoretical approaches to communication including organizational communication, rhetoric and performance studies. We are committed to an individualized student experience and our faculty are not only established scholars in their fields but also caring mentors who can help guide you to acceptance at top PhD programs or help start you on the path to any number of rewarding careers in the communication field.

The Graduate Certificate in Strategic Communication can be earned in conjunction with the MA or as a standalone credential. The curriculum engages theoretically based strategic communication designed to influence audience behavior in a variety of contexts.

Micki Burdick '18 MA

Passion for Social Change and Activism Drives Communication Master’s Student to Pursue Doctorate

Micki Burdick ’18 MA joined the ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ University Master’s program in Communication with a passion for activism and aspirations to improve her writing and research skills. She is now pursuing a PhD in Rhetoric and Public Advocacy at the University of Iowa.
