SCHOLARSHIPS AND FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

With an intentional focus of inclusion, we are targeting efforts and funding to provide global opportunities to diverse and underrepresented students and scholars. Consistent with our Augustinian Catholic mission, making sure those most in need are not excluded from the ability to differentiate themselves through transformative international experiences.

The Moran Center for Global Leadership is pleased to announce a program for the support of faculty and staff committed to integrating global business perspectives into their research, teaching and outreach through international experience. Grants are limited to $1000 except in cases where faculty or staff are engaged in activities related to categories 4 and 5 below. For those activities, awards can be granted up to $2500. The Center is prepared to provide funding on a competitive basis for the following activities:

  1. Attendance at foreign language institutes/language emersion programs.
  2. Participation in professional international business (IB) conferences even if not presenting a paper. These may include faculty development in IB programs such as those offered by numerous Centers for International Business Education and Research (CIBER).
  3. Auxiliary faculty and staff travel support for presenting a paper at an IB conference.
  4. Center sanctioned foreign IB travel (e.g. developing new/modifying existing foreign academic programs, establishing academic contacts, etc.).
  5. Expenses associated with establishing a foreign partnership with approval from the Moran Center for Global Leadership/VSB.

The Moran Center for Global Leadership funding policies:

  1. A short proposal must be submitted outlining the activity, amount requested and use.
  2. The center will consider other funding proposals on a case-by-case basis.
  3. Faculty and staff may submit funding proposals totaling $1000 during any academic year except in relation to activities under category 4 or 5 above, in which case total awards may be made up to $2500.
  4. All award recipients will be required to submit a request for payment via Concur, including a short description of the activity and all receipts, within 30 days of completion of travel.
  5. If a faculty or staff member requests funding to attend a conference to present a paper, they must have:

This is a university-wide program that annually awards up to two $5,000 fellowships for undergraduate student involvement in non-traditional global study and experience. These fellowship awards are intended to support compelling, unique, and potentially transformative experiences outside of the United States, preferably involving business or other organizations. There is a strong preference for destinations in the developing and emerging regions of the world. These fellowships are not intended to support internships for academic credit or 棉花糖直播 sponsored mission or service trips.

To qualify for one of these fellowships, students must provide a letter of recommendation from a professor or staff member. For more information, contact the Moran Center for Global Leadership Director, Kim Cahill. The application deadline is March 1.

The Moran Center for Global Leadership awards scholarships to VSB students who will participate in an international service trip during semester break or over the summer. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and should only be submitted after participation in the program is confirmed.

  • Preference will be given to students demonstrating greatest financial need
  • All applicants must be admitted to the program and have a 3.0 GPA
  • Grants are awarded only once to an individual student during their time at 棉花糖直播
