INCOMING STUDENT CHECKLIST

We can’t wait to welcome the Class of 2028 to ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ Law! We want to make your entry into law school as smooth as possible when you come to campus.

PleaseÌýread through our incoming student checklist before your ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ Law journey begin and use the below areas as a guide to help plan ahead of your first days as a law student. Many of the items can be completed in advance; some are required, while others are encouraged.

REQUIRED ITEMS

  • Be sure toÌýreserve your seatÌýto secure your place in the Class of 2028.
  • Check your ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ email regularly. Important information about financial aid and summer deadlines are sent to your ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ email over the summer. Emails become available once full deposit is paid.
  • Upload a final, official undergraduate transcript to the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) by the start of Orientation.ÌýYou are required to submit this final official transcriptÌýdenoting a degree conferral date by September 1 to be in compliance with the ABA Standard 502. The ABA has stated that our law school requires students to provide a final official transcript, or the law school will be required to administratively withdraw students.
  • ÌýJoin the Class of 2028 Facebook group and begin meeting your new classmates!
  • Driving to campus? Register for parkingÌýbeginning in mid-July.
  • Upload a photo for your ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ Student ID cardÌý(Wildcard).ÌýIf you complete this process by early August, you will receive your Wildcard during Orientation. Otherwise, you will need to visit the Wildcard Office in Dougherty Hall to obtain your Wildcard.
  • Sign up for Nova Alert. Nova Alert delivers important emergency alerts, notifications and updates to any mobile device or email you choose to register. Students may also add devices for parents or family members wishing to receive Nova Alerts.
  • Check your access to MyNova, where you can view your financial aid status, registration and courses (Blackboard).
  • Review your overall financial aid statusÌýon MyNova.
    • Enter 'Law School Financial Aid Notice' in the search bar, then log in using the access code assigned to you when you were admitted to the law school.

  • Review bursar and billing informationÌýfor your account when the information becomes available.
  • Complete the tuition refund and direct deposit formÌýto allow the University to electronically send a tuition account refund directly to your bank account.
  • Enroll in or opt out of health insurance coverage. ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ automatically enrolls and bills students for coverage unless the student waives coverage online. Health insurance is mandatory for all students. This will be available in the summer.
  • Check your schedule via NovasisÌýin late July. You will be assigned a section by the Registrar. Please note, your schedule is subject to change until Orientation.

ACADEMICS

  • Ìýthrough the ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ Bookstore and have them shipped. Be sure the books are returnable, in the event your schedule changes.
  • Class schedules, first day assignments, and textbook listsÌýfor your classes will become available in late July and continue to be updated.Ìý
  • Familiarize yourself with the many resources available at theÌýÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ Law Library.
